6.5hp Tecumseh straight pipe mod?
I have been trying to figure out how to put a straight pipe on my 6.5hp Tecumseh engine on my go kart. The problem i have is that it is flanged and not threaded. what can i use to make a custom straight pipe? i have a M.I.G. welder and my brother has another one that burns hotter. can’t remember type. i have some old bike seat posts. some seem to be just about a cm. or so to small for the hole.
I would go to a welding shop (to purchase metal). They probably have something better than some old bike seat pieces. You will probably have to build and drill your own flange. Good luck.

I agree. Measure the outside of your exhuast pipe then go pipe with a comparable inside diameter so it slides over the existing pipe. Then you can weld it with a lap weld using your mig.
