anyone with backgound knowledge aboutr laws dealing with mopeds, motor scooters, etc answer this?

what’s the difference between

(H) A motorized scooter.

(I) Class C does not include a two-wheel motorcycle or a two-wheel motor-driven cycle. ????????

i got this from my california dmv website, please explain this to me. i currently have a license c but want a cheaper gas alternative such as a motor scooter. I’m too lazy to bike or walk, etc. =(

Moped = motorized bicycle.
Motor-driven cycle = Vespa-style vehicle.
Motorized scooter = go-ped style device.
Motorized scooter (go-ped) is NOT a motor vehicle under California law.
Motorcycles include freeway-legal scooters.
A year ago you could ride a go-ped (motorized scooter) with just a class C license. IDK, but IIRC, you need a Class M2 license nowadays. Even if it is not needed, it is the easiest thing to get.
